I started as a public-school art teacher, earned my Masters Degree in Art Education and taught at the collegiate level before giving it all up to become a 'starving artist'. When I moved to Portland in 2014, I was struck by the reflections in the rain leading to my focus on regionally based land and cityscapes

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Allegorically fun, acrylic and oil paintings, Reeverts' work is a play on photographic 'accidents'. Soft focus, and bokeh, or soft focus achieved through the use of a camera lens, are created with pigment and a brush. By not overworking the canvas the emphasis is on the human hand of a painting rather than the smooth machine production of a photographic print.
