Mash Ritchie is an abstract artist living and working as an art consultant in Toronto, ON. She graduated from OCAD University with a BFA from the Drawing and Painting program (2019).

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Mash Ritchie’s artistic practice explores ideas of fragility, temporality and death, while highlighting the importance of presence. With each mark created through a temporary and passing gesture - the permanence of movement is preserved on canvas as static marks.

Focusing on intuitive mark-making using various materials such as charcoal, oil pastels and acrylic, Ritchie forms compositions that express a restlessness towards the complexities of human experience.
