Mert Kaan Burnaz (b.1988, Turkiye) graduated from the Painting Department of Samsun Ilkadım Anadolu Fine Arts High School and the Sculpture Department of Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts. He completed his Master’s degree at Anadolu University in 2019 and continues his studies in the Proficiency in Art (Ph.D.) Program in Sculpture at the Social Sciences Institute at Anadolu University.

Burnaz’s practice focuses on the contrast dialogues among material, form, and memory, often exploring states of physical and emotional transformation. He has participated in nearly 60 art events, including international sculpture symposiums and exhibitions in Turkiye, South Korea, Ukraine, Canada, and the United States. His work has been recognized with one international and two national art awards. Burnaz is currently based in Toronto, where he continues his artistic research and production.
