Nida Amin

I am Nida Amin, originally a textile designer from Pakistan, I earned my design degree at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. For five years, I was immersed in the Pakistani fashion industry, designing high fashion apparel.
In 2008, I relocated to Los Angeles to pursue my artistic journey and start a family. During this time, I dedicated myself to arts education, teaching drawing fundamentals and art therapy in local school districts.
Three years ago, I refocused my talent towards drawing, primarily using pencil for its simplicity and expressive potential. My style embraces abstract surrealism, influenced by nature and enriched by personal experiences.
Engaging with various art organizations in the Southbay area fuels my creative spirit.
I am new to the art world , with two exhibitions under my belt including a People choice Award in one of them.
My work remains subjective, inviting viewers to find their own interpretations and meanings within its depths.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

In my art, I invite you to enter a world where imagination and creativity intertwine without limits. Through my pencil drawings, I weave emotions and inspiration, drawing from both the beauty of nature and the depths of personal experience.
My background in textile design enriches my artistic perspective. This foundation, coupled with a passion for arts education, and community engagement inspires me to explore the essence of human connection and self-expression through each piece I create.
Every artwork I produce is a transformative journey, inviting viewers to explore shifting meanings and evolving narratives as they engage more closely.
I invite you to view my drawings with fresh eyes and an open mind, where each piece serves as a portal to wonder and endless possibilities.
