ARTIST’S STATEMENT

"There is Liberty in Creativity," Nina Fabunmi
Through a dynamic interplay of oils, acrylics, gouche and watercolors, I capture the essence of these ever-evolving landscapes, using bold color palettes and expressive forms to convey the profound connection between people, nature and self.

My art is a reflection of how place informs identity, how the shifting tides, expansive horizons, and rooted terrains mirror our emotional and cultural landscapes. Each piece I create is an invitation to explore not only the external world but also the internal dialogues we have with our surroundings.

Prolific in my practice, I work across multiple mediums, allowing fluidity and freedom in both technique and concept. The versatility of my materials mirrors the fluidity of identity itself — layered, complex, and constantly transforming.

Ultimately, my goal is to spark a sense of wonder and introspection in my audience, encouraging them to consider their own relationship with the natural world and the ever-shifting environments within themselves. My work is a bold celebration of color, contemporary expression, and the intricate bond between place and person.
