Parisa Homatash

I, Parisa Homatash, am a Toronto-based visual artist specializing in contemporary collage. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tehran, Iran (1999–2003), and later completed studies in Computer Graphic Design in Toronto (2009–2010).
My work explores emotion, memory, identity, and human connection through layered compositions created from recycled printed materials. By transforming everyday fragments into richly textured artworks, I aim to create pieces that invite reflection and encourage viewers to form their own personal connections.
With a background in both fine art and art education, I have spent years developing my artistic practice and refining my voice as an artist. I am now sharing my work through exhibition opportunities, marking an exciting new chapter in my creative journey. As I continue to expand my body of work, I look forward to connecting with new audiences and contributing to the contemporary art community.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work explores themes of identity, memory, emotion, and transformation through handcrafted collage created from recycled magazines, packaging, and printed materials. By layering fragments of text, color, texture, and imagery, I transform discarded paper into expressive compositions that reveal new narratives and perspectives.
Inspired by contemporary art, graphic design, and everyday visual culture, I embrace the unexpected relationships between materials, typography, and color. Each piece is an invitation to look beyond the surface, discover meaning in the ordinary, and recognize the beauty and creative potential of reclaimed materials. Through my work, I seek to inspire curiosity, connection, and a renewed appreciation for the stories hidden within the everyday.
