I grew up with art and crafts being a constant presence in my life. It wasn't until I discovered pyrography in 2017 that I found a medium that awakened the inner artist in me. I am a self-taught pyrographer honing my skills through countless hours of practice and experimentation. I began displaying my pyrography creations at local markets where it generated a lot of interest and appreciation. Soon my work caught the eye of art enthusiasts and supporters of local artisans. Today, I continue to create both custom and commissioned pyrography pieces in my studio at home.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

As a pyrographer, I work with two natural elements - wood as my canvas and fire as my brush. While I am drawn to the organic nature of wood and its unique characteristics, I am fascinated by the art of harnessing fire to create and not destroy. Through wood burning, I love to explore the depth and texture that can be created on each piece. The art of pyrography allows me to blend my creativity with the wood's intricate patterns as a guide to create an image. My process is both meticulous and intuitive requiring precision and patience. I hope that my pyrography will inspire others to appreciate the beauty and complexity of nature.
