Born in India, now a New Yorker, Rita travelled all through her life, lived across cities and went on internalizing different ways of living. She trained in painting at New York University, and New York Studio School. Rita’s paintings are expressions of her way of seeing life, a harmony of emotions, cultures, and nature. Overflowing with texture and feelings, each ushered with a soulful mind and spirit of life. Rita is also an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. Her works have been shown at various New York City Galleries in Chelsea, and at Saphira & Ventura Gallery, Midtown, NYC’ and in New York Art Expo, 2019. Rita is versatile in her style, loves experimenting with color and shades. Nature is the biggest inspiration for her.
Three of her large works on Amazon Rainforest were recently exhibited at the G-20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 'Dialogues for the Planet' exhibition,'24.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Painting to me is like a dear friend who I can open up to. Painting to me is like my own child who I lovingly watch growing up. Painting is like writing a beautiful memoir, telling stories of life, penning a travelogue of the wonderful places I have been so fortunate to have traveled to.
I find inspiration from nature, from old songs that I grew up listening, some new ones from the country I adopted, from people around me. Playing with contrasting pallets, giving shapes to beautiful thoughts, capturing memories on canvases.is what my painting all about.
Painting is also paying homage to great masters of all ages, Impressionism in particular is my favorite genre. I love expressing myself through abstract paintings too, taking along my audience with me to a journey in search of the unseen, unknown and untouchable feelings.
