ROAM

ROAM is a visual artist and muralist whose work explores the intersection of technology, nature, the phenomenon, greed, and the human spirit. Primarily working with aerosol paint, their abstract style blends elements of sci-fi/fantasy art, cyberpunk, cartoons (anime/ manga) and graffiti, resulting in geometric, morphing patterns that depict technological storms, parallel dimensions, and the enduring beauty found in unexpected places.
Influenced by an unstoppable curiousity surrounding the metrics used in reading and understanding nature, mechanics, and technology. Thus, the influence of blueprints, maps, machine cross-sections, circuit boards, and computer chips move with the paint.
Their pieces often incorporate symbolic elements and small details, sometimes employing tiny depictions within a larger, more ambiguous landscape. Their art celebrates the vastness of the unknown and the existence of powerful, otherworldly forces we cannot comprehend, yet still shape our existence.
Since 2022, ROAM has painted over 60 commissioned murals in dt Toronto, the U.S, and France. Some of their major influences are Roberto Madda, Denise Thomasos, Mediah, H.R Giger, HERA, Katsuhiro Otomo, Fatspatrol, Hieronymus Bosch, Kawajiri Yoshiaki, Moebius, Squidlicker, and Death Burger.
ROAM has collaborated with other artists on canvas and wall. In 2024, they volunteered to paint a diy community based skateboard park and with the help of Street Art Toronto, was able to restore color into their community. They have also worked in conjunction with various BIAs on murals.
Their recent "Main Lines" series showcases a cyberpunk aesthetic, characterized by neon and white outlines. Currently, ROAM is preparing for a work trip to France in December. They currently have many projects on the go, is branding of their art on clothing and apparel, and plan for much larger walls in 2026.
