ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Robert Jess Marshall is a professional fine artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia, with over 25 years of experience.
Known for his impressionistic style, his acrylic-on-canvas paintings explore landscapes, figurative work, and florals, often incorporating iridescent paints to create vibrant, shimmering effects.
His work takes heavy inspiration from nature, West Coast forests, and local legends. Notable examples of his Pacific Northwest-themed art include his interpretations of Stanley Park's Siwash Rock (titled "Old Friend") and Indigenous folklore such as the Raven.
Historically featured in galleries along Granville Street, Marshall now works out of a private home studio and typically exhibits his latest pieces directly through his Robert Jess Marshall website.
