ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Mark Rothko stated “Art is an adventure into an unknown world, which can be explored by those willing to take risks”. This quote captures what motivates me to push my boundaries, explore new ideas, processes and techniques.
Recent abstract creations, reflect my interest in the interactions of colours, lines, geometric shapes and pattern. My approach uses multi-layered processes and adjustments in reaction to the developing image. My work has been described as being rooted in abstract expressionism and colour-field painting. I invite viewers to pause, reflect, and have their own visual and emotional response. My artistic practice reflects influences of printmakers including Anthony Whishaw, Harold Town, and Otis Tamasauskas.
