Rola Bleik

Rola Alameddine Bleik is a Lebanese-Canadian artist whose work reflects a lifelong passion for travel, culture, and the beauty of nature. With a background in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University and over two decades of experience as both an artist and educator, Rola has developed a creative practice that bridges the worlds she has lived in and loved—the East and the West.
Her paintings are instantly recognizable for their bold colors, expressive brushstrokes, and rich layers of emotion. Drawing from her Eastern heritage, she often incorporates vibrant palettes and rhythmic compositions that speak to tradition, memory, and identity. At the same time, her experiences in the West have opened her to new ways of seeing, experimenting, and breaking boundaries. This dual influence has become the foundation of her artistic voice: a dialogue between cultures, a bridge connecting contrasts, and a celebration of harmony within diversity.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My art is my way of telling the story of who I am and where I come from. I have always been inspired by travel, nature, and the cultures I encounter. Each place, each community, leaves a mark on me, and I try to capture those impressions through bold colors and expressive strokes. Painting allows me to hold on to the beauty, diversity, and harmony I see around me, and to share them with others.
I grew up between two worlds—the East and the West—and both continue to shape my work in powerful ways. The richness of Eastern traditions, colors, and patterns lives inside me, while the openness and freedom of the Western spirit give me space to experiment and explore. In my paintings, I try to build bridges between these two directions. Sometimes I highlight the contrasts, other times I show the connections, but always I search for a way to express both at once.
Nature is also a constant source of inspiration for me. Its seasons, its rhythms, its endless colors remind me that we are all connected, no matter where we come from. Just as travel opens my eyes to new cultures and perspectives, nature grounds me and gives me peace.
Through my art, I want to share the joy and curiosity that guide me. I hope that viewers can see a piece of themselves in my work, and feel the bridges I try to build—between East and West, people and places, difference and harmony.
