Ryan McRonald
I am an IT professional and a digital artist. My art has been exhibited at Toronto's Inter/Access gallery. I have travelled the world with a curious eye for textures, colours, and shapes. Through my art I combine my fondness for aesthetics with a fascination for randomness in code.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I use complex shapes as the basis for digital art. Generations of curious minds have put their minds to solving the Travelling Salesperson Problem (TSP). Visualizations of the TSP result in interesting geometric shapes. When a route is optimized, it doesn't cross itself as explained by the Pythagorean theorem. The resulting shapes are complex and appear to fold in upon themselves in interesting ways.
