Sam Felix

Sam Felix is a visual artist and designer from Queens, New York, whose passion for creativity began in childhood. Although Felix’s main medium varied over the years, she now primarily uses oil paint. Through her art, Felix highlights features that are often overlooked or underrepresented, aiming to inspire other Black women to embrace their own beauty. Felix’s main style consists of portraiture and figure painting. Storytelling is central to Felix’s work, most recently embodied in her piece "Hurry Up! You’re Gonna Miss the Bus," which marks her transition into realism. In recent years, Felix has participated in numerous art shows, particularly in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Notably, Felix has worked with The Brooklyn Museum, the Billie Holiday Theater, and Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning. Felix has begun curating her own exhibitions featuring both visual artists and performers. Felix recently completed a two-week residency program with La Maison de Beaumont Residency in Provence, France, where she worked on her project, Art as Resistance.
