I have been more prolific with my art in the past 15 years during my retirement. I was at a very low point in my life, and I believe that if I hadn’t connected with a mental health group in Burnaby I would not be here. The group was part of a community outreach program sponsored by CMHA and VMHA. The members were all experiencing some form of Mental Disability. Through the art program “My Artists Corner” I became healthier and able to work with others on their way to Mental Stability.
I like to experiment and challenge myself with new mediums, techniques and subject matters. However, I am still drawn to nature most often. Painting for me is an avenue to channel my creative energy that keeps me grounded. I find beauty in my surroundings, and I try to capture it on my canvas or paper.
