I grew up in Miami, studied art in college, then traveled and worked and made art around the world for many years – longest times in Greece (first mate on fishing boat), Iran (during and after the revolution), and Thailand for five years (with resettlement program for Indochinese refugees from the Vietnam war). After a degree in economics and legislative work for a US congressman, I got an MBA and worked in the business world for many years (business consulting, executive at large startup media company). All throughout, art remained a constant devotion, and I continued making work. I started a family and eventually went back to art school in Washington DC. We moved to Los Angeles for MFA opportunity, and now I’m making art full time after teaching business and economics at college for five years.
