Susan Bennett, a native of Chicago’s North Shore, has been exploring her world through various mediums in the visual arts since 2010. She majored in art education, but never taught, enjoying instead an IT career

Working mainly with acrylics and pastels, she is captivated by the forms and colors, along with her emotional relationships to humanity, nature and urban environments. She translates these connections through color, line, and texture into abstract two and three dimensional pieces. Her studio is a place that allows experimentation, discovery, and play. She often works on multiple pieces, each one clarifying or deepening her understanding of the possibilities within the visual elements. A theme may or may not develop that culminates in a number of works.

Susan has exhibited through solo shows and participates in several group exhibitions. Her Best in Show award for the Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists’ ‘Later Impressions’ show has been a highlight of her artistic career.
