Tommy Tang

Tommy Tang is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose work lives at the intersection of visual storytelling, identity, and emotional resonance. With a background spanning design, marketing, and fine art, Tang brings a strategic yet deeply human lens to her practice, translating lived experiences into compelling visual narratives.
Her work explores themes of belonging, transformation, and quiet strength, often drawing from personal memory, cultural nuance, and the subtle tension between vulnerability and control. Through layered compositions and a refined aesthetic sensibility, she creates pieces that invite reflection while maintaining a strong contemporary presence.
In addition to her artistic practice, Tang operates within professional creative environments, contributing to large-scale marketing initiatives and cross-functional projects. This dual perspective allows her to move fluidly between commercial precision and expressive freedom, enriching both worlds.
Tang’s work has been exhibited in gallery settings, including Mosaic Arts Gallery, and continues to evolve as she expands her voice within the contemporary art landscape.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work is an exploration of nature, memory, and identity through expressive brushwork and layered textures. Drawing inspiration from both my Chinese heritage and life in the U.S., I create emotionally resonant pieces using watercolor, oil, and mixed media. Each work tells a story rooted in reflection, growth, and human connection. I’m deeply committed to creating art that tells stories whether it’s a personal memory, a cultural reflection, or a quiet moment in nature. My journey as a self-taught artist has been shaped by resilience, curiosity, and the desire to connect with others through visual language. I’m always exploring new techniques and mediums, and I welcome opportunities that challenge me to grow, collaborate, and contribute to a vibrant creative community.
