Hi, my name is Tristan Thompson. I currently reside in Edmonton Alberta Canada. I work in mixed media in a contemporary urban Abstraction style. Key themes for my artwork are suffering and what it means to be human. I currently have my new 6 canvas series "Suffering and Human Cost" exhibiting here in Edmonton Alberta.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My work explores the organized Chaos and suffering woven into everyday life. I draw from personal experience and examine the way suffering exists across people, places, and culture, translating those experiences into a visual image through years of experimentation. Using various mediums and techniques ive created a style I would call Contemporary Urban Abstraction. Combining gritty textures, altered imagery, distressed materials, and expressive mark making to create a raw, layered and lived in work.
