Tyquane "Ty" Wright is an award-winning Look Development Technical Director and Fine Artist. He specializes in generating high-end computer graphics for feature films, live events and social media.

He is most known for his work, as part of the core team at Sony Pictures Imageworks, for "Spiderman - Into The Spider-Verse" which has won a Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Feature Film.

Ty has a Masters of Science in Digital Imaging from New York University and a Fine Arts degree from Brooklyn College. He takes pleasure in learning something new every day and wants to share his personal story and creative experience with the world.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My art is an exploration of the intersections between identity, history, and cultural narrative. By painting, deconstructing pages of Black non-fiction literature and merging them with the spontaneity of collage, with the intentionality of portraiture, I create works that amplify the lived experiences and voices of the Black community. Each composition emerges without preconception, allowing the materials and themes to guide the composition organically, reflecting the fluid and layered nature of identity itself.

I draw inspiration for my characters from a rich tapestry of sources, including feature films, sports, art history, Black historical figures, and pop culture. These influences shape my work into visual narratives that bridge past and present, into cohesive visual narratives, fostering connections, encouraging dialogue, and celebrating resilience, creativity, and the power of collective memory.
