Vanesa Trillia

Home All

A crisis and a dream led Trillia to the Ceramics Program at Sheridan College. Trillia dove into the program and her creative life was forever changed. She graduated in 2012, selected Valedictorian by her peers and faculty and was the recipient of the Joan Bennett Award.

Born in Argentina, Trillia calls Canada home. After many years of working in the financial industry, she can finally say that she is a full-time artist.

Trillia lives in Thornbury, Ontario.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

In the series “Expressions from the land within” Trillia’s sculptures, like letters from some unknown alphabet, have a life of their own.

For Trillia, these personal expressions, evolve over time and in unexpected ways. You may find them standing on their own, or in relationship. As the sculptures are rotated, flipped, stacked, or joined, their meaning changes. This inner language is fluid and eventually self-revealing. Always meaningful.
