Yona Verwer

Yona Verwer is a Dutch-born, New York-based multidisciplinary visual artist whose work explores identity, ecology, heritage, and transformation through painting, and installation, and new media. She blends traditional techniques with contemporary narratives. Verwer holds an MFA from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, and her work has been featured in over 30 museum exhibitions across the United States and internationally.
Included in the forthcoming Heritage: Jewish Artists in America Since 1900 (Syracuse University Press, 2025), her work has also been reviewed in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Art Criticism, and The Huffington Post.
