Growing up in rural Ontario helped to foster a love of all that was around me in the rocks, woods and lakes. This is still the primary source of my inspiration. I am fortunate to live close to the woods outside of Bancroft Ontario, as a result I often hike and enjoy the natural world around me.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I present my art in a realistic yet painterly manner using acrylic on canvas. My goal is to create depth in the painted image and at the same me to show the relationship between the paint and the canvas itself. I convey this through raw unfinished brushstrokes around the edges of the canvas. By doing this I bring the viewer along in the process of creation as well
as draw their eye into the depth of the painted image.
