Adam K. Orla-Bukowski was born to Polish immigrant parents who came to the USA after WWII.

The first language he spoke was Polish, then English and then art.

The experience of living within two different cultures has had a strong influence on the content of his artistic creation, but in particular on his recent thoughts and works.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

The other day, I began thinking about my art. Short of my life with my family; it has been the longest relationship I’ve been involved with.

Through love and disregard, difficulty and harmony, leading and following - it has been my constant, and my unconditional passion to create.

Why and how I create has evolved, just as I have. It’s been my life for over 50 years.

And a lot of times, it feels like I’m just beginning.
