Adeeba Aslam

Adeeba comes from a family of artists—painters, potters, and clothing designers—deeply rooted in the artistic traditions of Pakistan. A self-taught artist, Adeeba draws from her spirituality, personal experiences, and community connections to inform her creative process.
In recent years, she has refined her craft under the guidance of renowned Canadian artist, Catherine Shea. Influenced by the spontaneity of expressionist painters, Adeeba approaches the canvas with an open mind, allowing her intuition and emotions to guide the work.
Her abstract pieces, crafted with acrylics and unconventional tools, explore themes of depth, movement, and organic form. By layering bold colors and using unique textures, Adeeba evokes a sense of ethereal drama that mirrors the emotional and meditative journey of her creative process.
A versatile artist, Adeeba also translates her understanding of light and composition into the medium of photography. Through her lens, Adeeba invites viewers to see familiar and unfamiliar places from new perspectives, highlighting the textures, contrasts, and emotions that make each scene unique.
Adeeba’s work has been showcased in multiple venues across Toronto, the city where she was born and continues to live and paint.
