ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Alyssa King is a contemporary artist whose practice explores the ability of colour, texture, and material to shape the energy of a space. Through layered mixed media compositions, she explores how visual experiences influence emotion, perception, and our connection to the environments we inhabit.

Working primarily with spray paint and recycled cardboard, Alyssa transforms an everyday material into contemporary artworks with depth, movement, and dimension. The physical qualities of the material remain present throughout the process, allowing its history to become an integral part of each composition rather than something to be concealed.

Each piece is created with the intention of shifting the energy of a space, inviting curiosity, reflection, and a renewed way of experiencing both the artwork and the environment around it.
