Alyssa King is a Toronto-based contemporary artist who inspires through the power of words, phrasing, and colour. Her vibrant, layered works are created to shift energy, spark emotion, and bring presence to the settings they’re placed in.
With a background in graphic design, Alyssa developed a strong eye for visual communication and
an appreciation for the impact of language. These influences show up in her work through bold compositions, expressive colour palettes, and carefully chosen phrases that speak directly to the viewer.
Her signature use of recycled cardboard began as a practical choice, but quickly became central to her creative process. Drawn to its raw texture and utilitarian quality, Alyssa transforms discarded cardboard into richly dimensional surfaces that honour sustainability and add an unexpected layer of depth and meaning.
Using spray paint, acrylics, and mixed media, she brings together elements of street art, design, and abstraction. Each piece invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and feel, proving that even humble materials and a few powerful words can create lasting impact.
