Amanda PL

Amanda PL is a Toronto-based visual artist whose work celebrates the vibrant rhythms of the Canadian landscape through colour, form, and a playful yet reflective visual language. Inspired by her travels across Canada, she transforms rugged terrain into immersive compositions that balance structure with spontaneity.
Known for her signature black outlines and luminous palette, Amanda’s “stained glass” style captures the movement and emotional resonance of nature. Her paintings act as contemporary windows into the wilderness, rooted in a deep personal connection to the land.
Now painting full-time in Toronto, she continues to draw from her experience living across Canada — from Ontario to the West Coast — infusing her work with the vibrancy and diversity of the places she has called home.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work is inspired by the energy and rhythm of the Canadian landscape — from Ontario’s quiet lakes to the forests and coastline of the West Coast.
I use bold black outlines and rich, luminous colour fields to simplify and reimagine natural forms. This stained-glass approach allows me to balance structure with play, creating compositions that feel both grounded and alive.
My process is intuitive. I’m less interested in documenting a specific place and more focused on capturing its emotional atmosphere — how trees move, how light shifts, how land holds memory.
Through colour and form, I aim to create work that feels joyful, immersive, and deeply connected to nature — paintings that invite the viewer to pause and experience the landscape in a new way.
