Brian Kerls

Brian Kerls is a Colorado landscape photographer based in Denver. His journey into photography began in earnest on a road trip across California during college, when a simple 35mm film camera produced his first quality landscape and mountain images, and he's been hooked ever since. Over the years his cameras and equipment have changed, but his aim has stayed the same: to capture and share the beauty of the natural and built environment that is all around us, but too often overlooked.
An avid adventurer and outdoor enthusiast, Brian seeks out dramatic landscapes during times of soft, beautiful light, pairing exceptional light with intriguing, inspiring subjects. His work has been published in Outdoor Photographer, Landscape Photography Magazine, Practical Photography, and NationalGeographic.com, and exhibited in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles. His fine art landscape photography prints are collected by private buyers, interior designers, and corporate clients nationwide.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Photography has long been a passion of mine, and one I pursue for the pure fun of it: the happiness, creativity, challenge, and exposure to the natural and built environment it gives back in return. Whether hiking a remote mountain peak, standing beside an alpine waterfall, driving a quiet rural road, or exploring cities and towns, my camera is always along for the ride.
Stunning fine art landscape photography requires both exceptional light and a subject worth chasing it for, and that combination is what I'm always looking for. My hope is that when you look at one of my images, you're able to step out of your daily routine and feel, if only for a moment, as if you were experiencing that place in person.
Through my work I try to capture brief moments from the places I travel, and I hope at least a small sense of their wonder comes through in the images you see here. For me, photography is a never-ending journey of exploration, education, challenge, creativity, and fun, and one I invite you to share with me.
