Carolyn Sherar
I am a self taught artist for the most part - inspired by northern Ontario and the Group of Seven. I also love florals. My medium of choice has been acrylic but I love the rich, velvety feel of oils along with the texture right out of the tube. I am open to learning new techniques and methods which assist in my growth as an artist.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I am curious and open to world around me. I paint what I moves me and they evolve from my emotions and memories. I am happiest around nature - a quiet forest or lakeside. I love the beach and the soothing sound of the constant waves. Painting takes me out of my head and keeps me happy and present in the moment.

Inspired by my time in Northern Ontario, this painting shows the windswept tree set upon a rocky coast on a beautiful blue lake.
