ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My photography practice is rooted in the act of noticing, documenting and sharing alternative perspectives on the world often overlooked due to their marginality, smallness, hiddenness.

The camera’s ability to focus, reframe, and capture lightness and darkness, form and shape helps me to tell stories about the intricacy, absurdity, beauty and interconnectedness of people, places, and things in the world’s built and natural environments.

Observed in, but extracted from, their original contexts most of these images, taken in different places around the world, take on meanings beyond themselves and across geographies; revealing them to be both part of, and apart from, their own location and the world.
