I obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from University of Massachusetts and have a lifelong career in design and since 2010 have been the owner of my business, Creative Capture.

In 2014 I started painting when I took an oils course with Canadian artist, Cheryl Peddie in Calgary, Alberta, and have been painting ever since. I have been living in Nova Scotia for six years, and am a member of The Crossroad Artists in Tantallon, and a member of The Peggy's Cove Area Arts Society, showing my work at the Hubbard's Barn Opening Night, The Prow Gallery, and the annual Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts Studio Tour.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I am from a large family of creatives, artists, artisans and makers. Depending on the subject or whether I am painting an abstract, landscape or portrait—I will use either oils or acrylics and sometimes collage.
My style fluctuates between realism and abstract expressionism, inspired by the beauty and power of nature, dreams and meditation. I love the expressive and spontaneous freedom that abstract painting gives me. Running parallel to my painting and career in graphic design, was my involvement in the healing arts, with a Masters in Holistic Counselling and various holistic therapies, clinical hypnotherapy, meditation and dream work. It's in my nature to delve into my own and others' hearts, minds and souls, and hope that my artwork connects viewers with those realms within themselves.
