Colombe Nadeau-O'Shea
I've had no formal art training. My experiences and my passions fuel my art. I’ve been painting since I was 6 years old. Art has always been a way to express my thoughts and emotions in physical form. My fingers are a conduit for my brain; the finished products are my thoughts, emotions, fears, hopes and dreams on canvas.
Over the years my style has shifted and changed – after all, nothing in this world is constant. I have, over the last few years, come into what I know now to be “my style” my unique ability to work fluidly with colours and forms, to start with one shape and watch it continuously morph into something new, something different, something ever-evolving.
My biggest challenge as an artist has been knowing when to stop. Because I feel my soul pouring out onto the canvas, it is sometimes hard to determine when a work is “finished.” Sometimes, though, you just know…
Creating art has always, and will always, be a part of me. It is a true joy to be able to share my passion with the world. I will be a successful artist when I know my work touches others and becomes something more than simply personal catharsis.
