ARTIST’S STATEMENT
The "Extraordinary in the Ordinary" series explores the beauty of fleeting moments that often go unnoticed in our lives. My paintings reflect an emotional awakening—a renewed sense of gratitude that allows us to notice and cherish the small, hidden moments of joy in daily life. These might be as simple as watching light filter through a wine glass and noticing the colour or catching a glimpse of the vivid yellow of canola fields on a summer drive.
The fragmented light in my work symbolizes the elusive nature of our awareness—how quickly these moments appear and disappear. Through this series, I seek to preserve these fleeting moments and invite the viewer to pause, feel, and recognize the moment when the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
