Dorothy Gail Scott was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where her surroundings were drenched in rich cultural arts and music. When she moved to Southern California in her late teens, the mountains, ocean, wetlands and their rich colors became a new backdrop. Her landscape oil paintings are inspired by a loving tribute to these destinations.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Since I was old enough to hold a crayon, art has been a necessity. Capturing color and light is what I strive for in every painting whether landscape or still life.
My love for art and oil painting is sometimes difficult for me to express in words, so I hope you see and feel it in my artwork.
