Jeweliyana Reece is an award winning, multi-disciplinary artist based in western Canada. She creates vibrant, textured paintings inspired by the beauty of nature.
Originally known for her intricate glass paintings of landscapes and florals she expanded her artistic practice to include acrylic painting. This made it possible to add the depth, texture and color to her expression - it was a natural segue and has become her primary medium. A largely self-directed artist, she has continually developed her skills through study, mentorship, and a lifelong commitment to learning.
Working intuitively, Jeweliyana builds paintings through layers of colour and texture, allowing each piece to evolve organically. Her goal is not realism, but immersion - to create spaces where viewers can wander visually through depth and detail.
The ever-changing seasons of Canada, her muse; acrylics, her medium. Inspired by both Mother Nature's wingmen and showstoppers, she seeks to capture the beauty that makes us pause, look closer, and enjoy a little piece of the quiet magic that’s ever unfolding all around us.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Joy is in the 'juicy details'. Inspiration is often an intuitive thing for me. Rarely do I make it through a walk or bike ride without being called to pull over and snap reference photos. It's the little things, the underdogs that often catch my eye. The bark on tree, tiny green buds poking through a dry and withered landscape. The clover at my feet almost unnoticed as I scan the distance of a field imagining what perspective I will paint. Life's miracles are literally unfolding all around us constantly. Bold color, depth and texture are my favorite tools to capture and convey the feeling of a moment or the dream that it inspired.
