Joanne's art is characterized by strong linear and graphic components, vibrant colour and fluid shapes. Her paintings have a graphic design sensibility.
After working full-time in the corporate financial world in Toronto, Joanne took several trips to Italy and France where she began painting in watercolour and fluid acrylic.
While working in Toronto she took courses at night in Printmaking at the Ontario College of Art & Open Studio: Lithography: etching, silkscreen, woodcut, lino print.
Joanne appeared on television as a wild-card artist in Episode 1, Landscape Artist of the Year Canada, Somerled Farm CBC.gem.
