Joy Case

Joy Case is a Vancouver-based Canadian photographer, visual artist, author and educator. Her creative practice spans photo-art, poetry, songwriting and digital worlds, connected by a curiosity about how we see, feel and imagine.
Through Joy of Vancouver, she transforms photographs of Vancouver and British Columbia into layered, expressive artworks. Ocean light, mountain silhouettes, urban reflections and changing skies become starting points for compositions that invite viewers to rediscover familiar places. Her work is available as fine art prints, resin-on-wood pieces and handcrafted art objects.
Joy holds a Master of Education from the University of British Columbia and is the founder of AI for All Inc. Her broader creative archive brings together her visual art, writing, music and explorations of emerging technology. Across these disciplines, her guiding belief remains simple: we are created to create.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work begins with noticing: light on water, a reflection that briefly changes a street, the meeting of mountains and sky. Vancouver and British Columbia offer an endless conversation between nature and city, stillness and movement.
Photography gives me a starting point. Through layering, colour and digital interpretation, I explore the feeling of a place as well as its appearance. Familiar landscapes become spaces for memory, imagination and discovery. Presented as prints or resin-on-wood artworks, these images bring that sense of wonder into everyday surroundings.
The same curiosity runs through my poetry, music and exploration of technology: what could this become? I am interested in how creativity can deepen our connection to the world and to one another.
I hope my work offers a moment to pause, look again and feel something personal: a recognition, a possibility, perhaps a little joy.
