Juwayriya Abdullahi is a visual artist who draws inspiration from
ancient histories, mythology, and imaginative worlds. Her passion
for surrealist art emanates through her work, which is often
characterized by its dreamlike quality and use of vivid colors and
shapes. Juwayriya's work is particularly influenced by her
experiences as a Somali-Canadian, and she often explores themes

related to identity, culture, and social justice.
In addition to pursuing her artistic career, Juwayriya is a
permanent resident artist of the Visual Arts Studio Association &
Gallery of St. Albert, where she actively contributes & engages with
the the local community. Her dedication and talent have also been
recognized by the Edmonton Arts Council, as she was awarded art
grants for individuals and collectives annually from 2021- 2025
