Karen A Pedersen, born and raised in Calgary AB. Canada. Began painting in her early teens staring with watercolours.

Karen’s artistic journey over the past 30 years has included formal and informal study along with studio and plein air painting.

As a contemporary painter whose work is a true reflection of her passion for the world around her. From the mountains to the tranquil countryside Karen captures the essence of each subject with a balance of observation imagination and intuition. With a painterly style and distinct brush work; working both in oils and acrylics. Landscapes, animals and plein air paintings can be found in her studio. Her passion for the diverse world we live in is evident in every piece as she strives to draw the viewer into the heart of the subject through her skillful use of movement form and light.
