ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My work explores community and Canadian identity through landscapes, city life, and everyday moments that feel familiar yet quietly significant. I am drawn to places where people gather, move and belong - public gardens, skating on the canal, migrating geese, neighbourhood streets, or rural forests that shape memories and seasonal rituals.

Using the approachable visual language of expressionism, I aim to create work that is emotionally lifting while remaining grounded in strong composition and storytelling. I'm interested in art for the greater good and invites connection - work that lives comfortably in home, public spaces, and galleries alike. I'm rooted in community and the belief that art plays a vital role in shaping how we experience and value our shared environments.
