I live my life in color! I am optimistic and express myself through my artwork and grew up inspired by the vibrancy of life. If I can spread joy to others through my artwork in this way I consider this a huge success. I am Dutch Canadian passionate about art who grew up on a farm with my art in local galleries in my early life. I then moved to Toronto and taught children hands on Art and Sciences. Every original piece is uniquely part of me from start to finish.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
All art I create is original, photographed and designed by me. I incorporate a method of painting called "Acrylic Pouring" that gives my pieces fantastic close-up abstract bubbles and details. Every canvas and frame of mine is 100% handmade and has a unique creativity that speaks to my colorful personality. I use high-grade artistic acrylic paints and complete each piece with a varnish or artistic resin to seal, protect and preserve them against ageing, sunlight and yellowing. Lastly, I construct each frame with locally sourced lumber, sand and stain each frame and attach it to its canvas.
Thank you for supporting original art.

Size and Weight: 27 inches width x 39 inches height x 2 inches depth. 3.85 Kg
Dominant Colors: Blue, Pink Medium: Acrylic, floetrol, gloss varnish, Special Walnut Danish oil stained pine frame
Ready to Hang: Vertical
My piece Summer Pine Tree is an acrylic poured large abstract piece. The 5 color pallet was very carefully chosen and mixed as complimentary colors. No whites or blacks were used in order to make this piece as bright as possible. I used a paint pouring method in the background first with pink and blue in the forms of abstract clouds coming down. The fuchsia pink and contrasted bright blue give the feel of a very hot dry summer day in Northern Ontario. Next a deep purple and light yellow with small accents create rolling abstract rocks that align with the upper left and downward to the right composition. Lastly while all the paint is still wet I added the tree in with the light greens. I handmade this frame with a .75 inch spacing and a light- medium stained frame to continue the overall bright feel of the painting. Sumer Pine Tree will undoubtedly brighten a space with life and the fluid motion of the clouds and sky are ever-changing. The poured sky's detail looks incredible close up.
