Lisette Jerez

I was born and raised in Santiago, Chile, and have always felt a strong connection to art in many of its forms. When I was 16, my parents gifted me my first camera, and since then, I have never stopped taking photos. I was fascinated by the idea of capturing the details of the world through photography.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communication from Instituto Profesional Santo Tomás in Santiago, where I had the opportunity to study both film and digital photography. I quickly fell in love with the magical chemical process of film photography, and that magic continues to inspire me. Today, I work with both film and digital cameras, with a focus on portraits, landscapes, and product photography.
Currently, I am based in Edmonton, Canada, where I have continued to practice my art with enthusiasm. The city’s natural beauty has shown me its unique characteristics, and I have spent countless hours walking the streets of Edmonton with my cameras in hand, capturing the charm of this special place that I now call my second home.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I create landscape photography with a classic sense of composition, focusing on the balance between shapes and forms. My approach is spontaneous, with my eye and hand always seeking that perfect light and the elements that can enhance the scene. I aim for a harmonious result that is visually pleasing and evokes a genuine sense of nature as it truly is
