VIC L. BICOMONG
As a child growing up in the Philippines I wanted to be an artist. But growing up I had other interest in singing and dancing that set aside my God given talent as an artist.
In 1978 I migrated to the USA, then joined the US Air Force within three months. I started working for the US Postal Service when I got out of the military in 1984.While working for the US Postal service I did commissions, window Christmas displays and detailed in the Oakland Postal District for almost two years as an illustrator for their newsletter.
My biggest painting was the mural inside the Vallejo Post Office that got published in the SF Gate. In 1995 I moved to Boston, lived there for almost 11 years and continued doing commissions.
I moved back to California in 2005, continued doing commissions. Forming a band and singing in events and clubs kept me from focusing on my artwork. Not until 2011, I got to share my talent to public when I was given the opportunity to do a solo show in Red Dot Gallery in midtown Sacramento. I am now retired and can finally focus on my artwork. I am currently a member of Blueline Arts Gallery in Roseville Ca., Pence Gallery in Davis, CA. and Sacramento Fine Arts. I will continue to grow as an artist and use my talent as God intended, to create more beauty in the world and make daughters Stefanie, Janelle and Jamie proud of their father.
