Lynden Cowan
Artist Lynden Cowan’s interest in painting began at age eight when she began to create her own art materials from plants and other materials and her mother’s pots.
This self- taught artist was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and her Maritime experiences heavily influenced how the artist viewed her surrounding environment, and were expressed in her artwork.
The artist has exhibited in London, Canada and the United States, and has been juried into many international competitive exhibitions.

These two lovely Painted Turtles live in the Millpond beside my studio at the Alton Mill Arts Centre.

This beautiful Grizzley Bear was strolling in the Banff area in what had formerly been his forest. You can see how there is growth around the cut trees which indicates maybe they cut more trees down than they needed.

eautiful scene in the Kimberly area close to Owen Sound, Ontario. This rocky part of the Bruce Trail features slippery moss covered boulders carved by the glaciers hundreds of years ago. In the lower part of the painting you might notice an Eastern Milk Snake , known to frequent this area, creeping out from under one of the rocks.

Tobermory is a 30 by 40 inch oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas, that won the Award of Excellance in Calgary in the Society of Canadian Artists competition.
If you look closely in the lower left quadrant you will notice the small red fox peeking out that had been following on this part of the Bruce Trail.

Fishing is a 20 by 24 inch oil o painting on gallery wrapped canvas, of a scene in the Mon Mill area of the Bruce Trail. I am known to include something alive in each painting and though people think that they see a fish in the water, there are no fish and the title refers to the belted Kingfisher resting on the tree watching for his dinner.
