Parvin Banagar

I am originally from Iran. Taking art classes in Iran since 1982 and practicing on portrait anatomy and still life in different mediums. In 1990 moved to Japan, and lived there for 11 years, meantime I was looking into Japanese arts such as painting, Ikebana, Japanese paper dolls, pottery, and finding my way to learn and teach after few years. I participated in 2 exhibitions in Japan at Yokohama city. I studied Interior Design while I was living in Japan, which helped me to learn about art history. I found painting is one of the best therapy for me to enhance better quality of living. I always wanted to challenge myself in experiencing different styles and mediums.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Painting has therapeutic benefits and is incredibly relaxing and helps to reduce stress levels. It makes you focus specifically on what you are creating and let everything else go.
