ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I create abstract paintings that explore the tension between freedom and confinement.

My process begins with movement, intuition and an openness to the unexpected. Through layers of acrylic paint, sweeping gestures, scraped surfaces and deliberate interventions, I allow each composition to develop through a continuing exchange between spontaneity and control.

Across my work, color, texture and form take on different roles. Some paintings are expansive and energetic; others are quieter, more structured and restrained. What connects them is an interest in what happens when freedom encounters boundaries, and how those boundaries can become part of the expression itself.

I believe abstract art leaves room for interpretation beyond the artist’s intentions. What I see in a painting may be entirely different from what someone else discovers in it, and that possibility is part of what makes abstraction so compelling to me.
