Sheri Raven

SheriLynn Raven is a self-taught visual artist and photographer based in Edmonton, Alberta. ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work explores the intersection of emotion, movement, and transformation through abstract form. I am drawn to the tension between control and release—allowing each piece to evolve intuitively rather than forcing a predetermined outcome.
Using layered textures, fluid motion, and bold contrasts, I create compositions that reflect both internal landscapes and the natural world. Each painting becomes a record of energy in motion—capturing moments of disruption, healing, and reconstruction.
My practice is deeply rooted in personal growth. Through art, I process experience, challenge limitation, and create space for renewal. I invite viewers to engage with the work not as something to define, but as something to feel—allowing their own emotions and interpretations to emerge within it.
