SiHyun's artistic mission is to create pieces that highlight the beauty and bittersweet qualities of her dual identity and Korean history.
SiHyun's portfolio ranges from traditional prints such as intaglio copper and screen prints to illustrative artworks that encapsulate the feeling of nostalgia. Notable pieces include "Goose Dad," exploring the concept of immigrant fathers who work abroad to provide for their families, and "애틋한 인사" (Heartfelt Greeting), a duo intaglio etching print that explores the poignant parallels between Shimcheong's brave leap into the Indang Sea as a sacrifice so that her blind father can regain his eyesight and my childhood departure to Canada due to my parents' work.
