I have been creating art all my life and in high school I was fortunate to be able to take part in a workshop on the technique of Modern Batik Art from David Kibuuka. I believe that the best inspiration comes from everyday experiences and is what I draw on when creating a piece of work. One of my favourite personal quotes that often influences my design and art process is “I am fuelled with Inspiration to an end with no beginning” Often times I think about the end results of what a certain piece of design and artwork will be, and how the results of what I have created will impact and influence others. That is what guides my process.

I am a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and Modern Batik enthusiast primarily focused on the fields of communication design, branding, and identity. Some of my guiding principles are more unorthodox than most, because the words I live by are, Be Bold. Be Vibrant. Be Inspired.

This work was created on canvas by using wax as a resist to block out dye. The fragmented cascade of textures in the background are the effects of the dyes bleeding through the wax. The canvas used is a soft muslim fabric and can still retain the vibrancy of the original colours even a decade later.
