The images in the 'Serendipity' series were made with photography techniques emphasizing intentional blur, such as intentional camera movement (ICM), in which the position of the camera is shifted during the exposure to capture the movement of light. Soft, bright, and ethereal abstract botanicals explore the elements of patience and chance during the process of art-making (and living). Other questions that arose throughout my process were: Are opportunities, methods, and mindsets determinate or created? How might we accept, cope with, defy or alter the potential discomfort in the inability to perceive clarity, certainty, and detail?
